Nila Aarathi
From January 19 to February 3, the Nila Aarti is performed every day starting at 6:00 p.m. There is a reason why the Nila is revered and worshipped as a deity.
During the month of Māgha, under the leadership of the Ganga, the Bhāratappuzha becomes a river in which all the deities of India are present. Bhāratappuzha is the only sacred river in this country that bears the name of Bhārata.
Nila Aarti is the occasion when Bhāratappuzha—who nourishes all living and non-living beings of our land as Annapūrṇā—is worshipped as a mother.
Throughout the days of this Mahā Māgha Mahotsavam, Nila Aarti will be performed on the banks of the Bhāratappuzha accompanied by instrumental music and ceremonial sounds.
This auditory and visual marvel known as Nila Aarti will be conducted under the leadership of those who perform the Ganga Aarti in Kāshi.
